Demand Side Management Specialist Achieves Successful SAP Certification
ATLANTA & KAISERSLAUTERN, Germany--SAP AG has awarded CAS, the world's leading provider of Demand Side Management solutions for the Consumer Products industry, the SAP "Certified Integration" seal for its CPWerx™ 6.0 suite of solutions. To complete the certification process, CAS had to demonstrate to SAP that its solution could integrate seamlessly to transfer order data to an SAP system using HTTP. The actual case tested for integration was based on transfer of order data from CPWerx 6.0 to SAP ERP Central Component 5.0 (SAP ECC 5.0). The CPWerx solutions suite, which was developed on the SOA principle and based on Microsoft.NET, achieved all the criteria without a hitch.
CAS has a long history of integration with SAP, with approximately 200 successful integration projects in clients' SAP environments, covering connection of its own solutions at both the back end and the front end. CPWerx has been developed based on Microsoft.NET technology on the service oriented architecture (SOA) paradigm, and has a five-layer architecture. The user interface layer creates the user interface in an Internet browser. Following this is the web services layer, which controls how the user interface is created. The third layer is home to the business logic function, where business rules and validations are carried out on the application server. The fourth layer, data abstraction, supports a variety of DBMS technologies such as Oracle, Microsoft and IBM, and allows the databases extracted from the fifth (database) layer to be available to the upper levels. All applications and elements of the CPWerx suite, from Trade Promotion Management to Field Sales Management, Category Management and Reporting & Analytics, are completely integrated and use a joint data set with a consistent data model.
Because current integration and data exchange standards like XML or Web Services are supported, data can be exchanged between CPWerx and SAP solutions in both directions. In addition, selected SAP functions can be displayed and executed in the CPWerx user interface and vice versa.
